New Lab App and Facility Guidelines
After what seems like a lifetime, we are delighted to be fully open once again.
We are eagerly looking forward to welcoming you back to your club, but we would like to explain in more detail how certain facilities will have to operate to ensure your continued safety at the Lab.
Firstly we would like to tell you about our exciting new Laboratory Spa App which can be used to book all your classes & swimming pool sessions. It can also check your activity and even link fitness Apps to help track your fitness goals. Please download this at the App store or Play store (if you are an Android user). Just simply search for ‘The Laboratory Spa & Health Club’ and install following the steps to set up (please see the info below to guide you through this process):
Please click the download link below for your preferred mobile device.
After install – please use the email you have registered with us to set up your account.
Due to the necessary social distancing measures, we have had to reduce the class sizes to 9 in the group exercise studio, 8 for all mind and body classes, aqua is restricted to 12 spaces, and 12 for spin classes.
INTERIM CHANGES TO OUR CLASS POLICY
Due to the restrictions in place and to make the ability to book classes as fair as possible, a maximum of seven classes (one per day) may be booked one week in advance. A maximum of two of the same type of class may be booked per week.
We are leaving 30 Minutes between each class to give us sufficient time to sanitise equipment and to limit class arrival congestion.
Sanitised wipes are available in all studios for you to wipe down your bike, weights or mat.
All yoga props and resistance bands have been removed from the studios please bring your own or you can purchase these from the Lab reception.
All classes are bookable a week in advance via the Lab App or over the phone.
Bookable classes at this stage are for Muswell Hill only.
We appreciate that through the interim time table, and the changes to class capacity, that you may not be able to take part in the same number of classes in which you enjoyed prior to the lockdown, but we have tried to make it as fair as possible for all to be able to book. Streamed classes live from the Lab will also be in place to add additional opportunity to take part, these again can be booked through the Lab App or over the phone and can be seen on the time table link below. Overall, I am sure that you will agree that the ability to take part in 7 classes per week plus additional live streamed classes still represents fantastic value for money. Below you will find a link to view our updated timetable:
Following the success of our Lab Live Classes on Instagram and because we realise that the current situation means that many people may still require the flexibility of being able to view the classes from home we have made the decision to also offer live streamed classes via Zoom. This will also enable more of our members than ever to have access to our classes and fantastic instructors. To view the live streamed classes you will need to create a Zoom account and of course log on at the time of the class.
We are following governments guidelines and are therefore putting in place a new booking policy for general pool usage, this will be bookable through the Laboratory App and over the phone, please click on the facility section of the App where you can then book your one hour slot. Please note that whilst your slot is one hour you have a 45 minute swim period with a 15 minute turn around added to limit congestion for those leaving and arriving. Whilst in the pool, so as to avoid collision with another swimmer may we ask you not to swim back stroke.
Please note that the maximum pool usage for swimmers at any one time is 10. The pool and locker team will be on hand to assist you in choosing the most suitable swim lane available. Please try to avoid using the pool during aqua aerobic classes as usage will be limited to a maximum of 6 swimmers.
We appreciate that whilst these measures may feel draconian to some, they are only temporary and are in place as a necessity for the benefit of all. It is our mission and passion to provide you with a safe place where you can escape the pressures of every day life…. and we hope that our interim policies provide you with as much opportunity for you to enjoy the club as possible.
In the build-up to us opening our doors for this Saturday our phonelines at Muswell Hill will now be open from Thursday to Friday 9:30am – 5:30pm to answer your questions and to assist you if needed in the downloading of the new App. Our telephone number is 02084573300.
Additionally our reception desk will be open for you to register your finger print/collect your new contactless card from this Thursday 9:30am – 7pm and Friday 9:30am – 7pm.
A REMINDER OF SAFETY MEASURES
As we explained in our previous email, members will need to have a temperature check upon entering the building and anyone with a temperature over 37.5 degrees centigrade will not be able to enter the club.
Members are asked to wash their hands frequently during their visit and both at the beginning and end of your visit.
If you feel at all unwell, do not visit the club and follow the government testing and quarantine procedures until it is 100% safe for you to return.
Hand sanitiser will be available all around the club for your usage.
Where it is possible for you to shower and change at home after your workout, please do so.
Social distancing rules must be maintained at all times and where possible masks and gloves should be worn.
Of course this list is not exhaustive and more measures can be found in our previous email. We will monitor the situation carefully both in the club and in terms of government guidelines and where we feel it is necessary to make changes, as the situation evolves, we will do so.
We want to thank you for your incredible support during the Club’s enforced closure, your kind words, tweets, letters and emails have truly been appreciated, and as our Vice Chairman Markos Lyras previously said; “It is you, our wonderful members that bring life to our clubs”. Our clubs have been empty now for over 100 days and we are excited to see members finally able to enjoy the facilities once more.
Please look out for vouchers which we have sent you in the post for you to use in club, these vouchers are to credit you for the days in March when we had to close promptly according to government instruction. These vouchers have a long expiry so please use them at your leisure.
We look forward to welcoming you back soon…… it’s been too long!
